Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature

Nike have been committed to make you run better for nearly 50 years, but nowadays they are also committed to making a better world for you run, the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature in Flat Pewter/Black/Lt Arctic Pink highlights their sustainability commitment and relentless culture of innovation.
The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature takes a huge step forward in delivering sustainable sportswear with a shoe that uses over 50% recycled materials by weight but has no discernible change in performance noticed by testers on their flagship race day shoe.

The upper combines a Nike Flyprint fabric that uses recycled TPU material taken form Zoom Airbags, and Takeback Flyknit, using leftover flyknit yarns, already composed of recycled plastic bottles.

The incredibly responsive and lightweight ZoomX midsole is composed of recycled ZoomX parts moulded together, for the same ride that you have come to expect with a more sustainable approach. The Air pods in the forefoot are composed of over 65% recycled material and add efficient energy return, and a responsive feel. Even the Carbon Plate uses over 80% recycled Carbon Fibre to deliver its signature propulsive feel.

The internal sockliner offers lightweight, responsive cushioning with 100% recycled ZoomX, and Nike Regrind material is mixed into the outsole to achieve the perfect balance of durability, traction, and sustainability.

It’s not just this shoe either, by pursuing this project Nike see tremendous potential to scale up the sustainable solutions across their footwear platform in running and beyond so grab a pair and get involved at the birth of something special.

Nike

One of the most recognisable logos on the planet, Nike’s famous Swoosh can be seen on every type of sportswear, but did you know that they started in running?
Blue Ribbon Sports, as they were originally known, began as an importer, offering Onitsuka Tiger running shoes to American athletes in the 1960s. In 1972, they created the first Nike-branded shoe, and the rest, as they say, is history.
As seen on the feet of sports stars and enthusiastic amateurs alike, today Nike continue their mission to “bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world”. And remember: if you have a body, you’re an athlete.
While their spikes have won countless medals, they’re best known for their record-breaking speed range, including the pioneering Alphafly and the legendary Pegasus.

Alphafly

With a huge stack height – the depth of foam under your feet – and a lightweight design inspired by the shoes that broke the two-hour marathon mark, the Alphafly is the shoe to beat your PB in. It’s laser focused on high-speed runs and topping podiums.

Carbon Plate

Carbon plates have well-researched benefits and a seemingly endless list of race wins and world records.

They create the firmer feel that fast racers are looking for and help to guide the foot through your stride, providing a touch of extra support. They can also help create a rocker feel, with the stiffness allowing the shoe to pivot – as the toe goes down, the heel must come up, easing you into your next stride.

Although stiff, they do flex, providing an energised pop of forward momentum as the plate fights to retain its shape.

Each brand, and almost every shoe, uses a plate differently. Different shapes, thicknesses, and designs are used to prioritise a different aspect of performance. Some aim exclusively to guide the stride, while others focus solely on propulsion.
