ASICS have focused on improving the small details that can make a big difference to the comfort and fit of their latest Gel Cumulus 21. A softer feel and improved space in the toebox should open it up to suit even more runners than before. The ASICS Gel Cumulus 21 provides a softer feel to previous versions by lowering the density of the Flytefoam Propel in the midsole. This still gives the same highly responsive feel and durability you should expect, but allows for a more comfortable, softer ride.
The increased comfort is enhanced by increased cushioning around the heel and a new sockliner that uses Soft EVA to provide a plush cushioned feel on the foot and maintain its performance throughout your run.
The toebox has a rounder shape with a wider fit to give a little more space in that area. This should mean that more people will find the fit will suit them.
Like the previous versions of the Cumulus it uses Flytefoam as well as Flytefoam Propel in separate layers to give the perfect combination of weight saving and energy return. It also uses Gel in the forefoot and heel to absorb impact at the strike.
The upper uses a Jaquard Engineered mesh upper that opens up the mesh in some areas to provide some give and breathability, while tightening in others to support and lock down your foot.
