Today we’re going to be taking a look at the latest and greatest drop from Nike running for Tokyo, the Rawdacious collection.

It’s no secret Nike have taken the throne when it comes to high performance running footwear but in this day and age with other brands hot on their heels, there’s no time for complacency. Check out our full video below and find out if Nike are still top dog!
Want a little more depth into some of the key shoes in the collection? Keep reading and we’ll endeavour to satisfy your curiosity..

If you’re in the midst of marathon training fatigue or simply upped your mileage, sometimes we all crave a beautifully soft midsole foam under foot to remedy the pavement pounding. If this sounds like you, the ZoomX invincible run Flyknit should 100% be on your radar.

We’ve seen ZoomX foam in Nikes top end racers for a few years now but the Invincible is the first time we saw a full magical midsole of ZoomX in a dedicated daily trainer. You’ll find an uncharacteristically wide footprint for Nike’s standards along with an external heel clip to help with stability and a variation of Flyknit in the upper and with considerable outsole coverage, this is a shoe that will hold up very well over some solid miles. It’s not the most versatile shoe of all time but for a soft, bouncy ride, it doesn’t get much better.

If a little more versatility is what you’re after, the recently released Pegasus 38 ticks that box and then some. The Pegasus is a true running shoe classic that’s stood the test of time and with the latest iteration you’ll find a durable yet pretty responsive react midsole with additional air zoom pockets under the forefoot.

Nike also took on board feedback from the previous iteration of the shoe by redesigning the upper for a slightly wider, more accommodating fit and the outsole, well, it’s built to last.

If your rotation is missing that durable, do it all daily trainer, the Peg 38 is worth a bash. Especially when it looks as good as this one!

Getting into the business end of the collection, this is the Vaporfly Next% 2. The original Vaporfly changed the game forever upon first release and the Vaporfly next% 2 only builds on that legacy. For anything from 5k up to the full marathon distance, it doesn’t get much better.

The fit of the Next% won’t work for everyone with a heavily contoured arch and midfoot but with a more breathable and accommodating upper to the Vaporweave featured on the original Next%, this subtle update to a modern day classic is a real winner. When the world’s greatest distance runners line up in Sapporo this summer, you can guarantee the Vaporfly Next% 2 will be represented in mass.

Finally, how could we forget the Nike Alphafly. Nike have released some very tasty colour ways in recent times, but this Rawdacious number has got to be right up there.

Atomkit upper, maximum legal stack of ZoomX foam, carbon plate, air zoom pods, the alpha fly has the lot. Its another one that may not work for all due to the fit but in this highly competitive marathon race day market, many would argue there’s no better weapon for the job.
