We all have our own reasons for running. Whether it is for general health, fitness or mental well-being, it is hard to beat the feeling of getting out for that morning run, ticking off your goals and feeling yourself grow in strength and confidence. Which is why getting injured and not being able to run really sucks!

The truth is when you regularly push your body outside of its comfort zone the risks of getting injured naturally increase. Because of this, most runners are likely to experience an injury at some point in their journey. It’s not a fun fact, but it is just part of the game we all love so much.

The worst part of being injured is not being able to run. This is why Nike are on a mission to help reduce running injuries. The Nike Fearless system employs three key design concepts to help keep runners running. Rocker Geometry for smooth heel to toe transitions, Ample Foam for impact protection and a wide base in the forefoot for natural stability.

At the start of 2021 Nike introduced two new shoes developed using these concepts. The Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 builds on from the success of Nike React infinity Run, which launched at the start of 2019 to glowing reviews from runners all over the globe. The brand-new Nike ZoomX Invincible Run takes the same principles of the React and adds Nike’s lightweight ZoomX foam to the mix for an even more responsive ride!

Determined to crack the running injury problem, Nike partnered with scientists at the University of British Columbia to conduct a study on their Fearless family and test their effectiveness at reducing injuries. We’ll let them explain more in their Behind the Design video.

The original Nike React Infinity Run proved incredibly popular with runners and we found it to be a superbly comfortable and stable shoe for our daily miles. The newly released Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 builds on those same foundations but delivers a few key updates.

An advanced Flyknit upper provides breathability where you need it most. It's strong and durable, helping to keep your foot secure throughout your run. Flywire technology also helps here, offering extra support and stability through the midfoot.

Lightweight and durable Nike React foam delivers a smooth, responsive ride. Less material between the insole and midsole saves weight overall and means you're closer to the foam. This helps create a more responsive experience. Stack height has also been increased slightly for an even plusher feel underfoot.

Shaped like a rocker, the foam midsole provides support for the 3 phases of your stride. Cushioning your initial contact with the ground, supporting your foot through a smooth transition and delivering flexibility and response as you push off.

More rubber has been added to the outsole of the shoe for improved traction and durability. Cushioning has been improved and softened around the heel collar to keep your foot more secure and comfortable and there is a loop on the heel to help with pulling the shoe on and off.

The Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 is perfect for your easier training runs and shorter distances and is available now at Pro:Direct Running for men and women. SHOP THE COLLECTION HERE.

The Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit is a completely new shoe to the Fearless family. Taking the injury preventing design concepts of the React and adding ZoomX foam to deliver a highly responsive training shoe that is designed for your longer runs.

ZoomX is Nike’s lightest and most responsive foam. Found in shoes like the Pegasus, Zoomfly and record-breaking Vaporfly, ZoomX delivers a super-soft feel and more energy with every step. Similar to the React Infinity, the midsole has a pronounced rocker shape to cushion, support and flex through your stride.

A high stack height provides a soft underfoot feel, while the wide base at the front of the shoe delivers familiar and reassuring stability as you run. Stability is also delivered by the upper, which uses an evolved Flyknit that is both strong and durable, keeping your foot secure as you rack up the miles. The other benefit of Flyknit is the breathability it provides in the areas where heat build-up is most common.

The Nike ZoomX Invincible Run is finished with a Waffle outsole. Created using runner-informed data, the outsole delivers traction where you need it and should hold up well to the demands placed on it by higher milage training runs. The soft cushioned heel collar will also help to keep you comfortable for longer.

If you are looking for a long-distance training shoe that will put a spring in your step and help to keep you injury free, the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit could be your new best friend! Available now at Pro:Direct Running! SHOP THE COLLECTION.
