From humble beginnings in his Grandmothers basement in Washington DC, Under Armour was founded by Kevin Plank in 1995 due to disdain for the cotton T-shirts him and his teammates were accustomed to wearing during American football games.

Plank’s intention was simple: to create a superior T-shirt that remained light, comfortable and breathable throughout even the most intense workouts. After maxing out his credit cards, Under Armour soon saw a meteoric rise signing numerous large contracts with top sports teams in the country.

Not even 25 years later, Under Armour are well regarded for their innovative sportswear with a wide range of apparel, accessories and footwear. More recently stamping their authority on to the running scene with an increased emphasis on running performance and sponsoring a plethora of world class athletes and elite distance running groups within the sport.

More than a running shoe! Under Armour have always been dedicated to solving the needs of every runner with a combination of forward thinking design and a unique implementation of digital technology into their running shoe line up.

The brand first launched the proprietary UA HOVR cushioning system across their high performance running shoes back in 2018 with the goal to provide superior energy return with every foot strike and create an effortlessly propulsive running experience.

As well as this, one of the standout features which sets Under Armour apart is the ability to seamlessly connect any shoe in the UA HOVR suite to the highly popular MapMyRun app. This allows the community of over 270 million users access to a wealth of in depth performance analysis data, personalised coaching and a valuable insight into their running form.

Gathered from anonymous data from nearly 87,000 users, Under Armour found that those who engaged the digital run coach ran 7% faster and 3% further than the overall user average on the app!

When the Oregon based Under Armour Footwear Innovation Team joined forces with some of the world’s leading material science companies, they weren’t messing around. Introducing the latest in running shoe innovation; the brand new UA Flow midsole.

Every runner dreams of those days where each mile split ticks off with ease as they glide along the road immersed in a state of pure bliss. After three years, 11,000 miles, 130 elite athletes, and 17 rounds of raw material testing Under Armour unveiled it’s all-in-one cushioning system eliminating the need for traditional outsole rubber aiming to induce the holy grail of distance running, the flow state.

UA Flow is a supportive and ultra responsive singular foam compound with undeniable traction providing comfort, flexibility and high level performance every step of the way.

Under Armours fastest performance running shoe yet, the UA Flow Velociti Wind is the first running performance footwear implementation of the ground-breaking UA Flow midsole.

Seen on the feet of some of the sports finest such as 2:09 marathoner Stephen Scullion, 4xNCAA Champion Morgan McDonald and Flagstaff based pro Emily Durgin, the shoe was inspired by its elite runners to help them push boundaries.

This resulted in a rigorous testing process which saw the brand experiment with the idea of eliminating the need for a traditional heavy rubber outsole. This made way for an amazingly lightweight, responsive ride and a level of durability equal to that of standard carbon rubber. Combine this with a UA Warp upper for optimised containment and breathability and it’s easy to see why the Flow Velociti Wind has proved so popular since it’s release.

If you’re looking for a neutral shoe for tempo runs or race day, this one could be right up your street.

An engineered 3D spacer mesh is the perfect combination of lightweight and breathable whilst maintaining stretch and structure and an external heel counter means you’ll achieve that secure locked in feel time after time.

Designed for the neutral runner, stay on the edge between performance and high mileage training with the infinitely capable Machina 2.

The embedded sensor in the midsole allows connectivity to the MapMyRun app to unlock a huge variety of data and metrics as previously mentioned. Step in comfort of the Infinite 3 is enhanced thanks to a gender specific engineered PU sock-liner to cradle the foot and minimise any chance of those nasty hot spots.

If you’re a neutral runner looking for nothing less than pure comfort on those easy miles and steady long runs, the Infinite 3 could be your ultimate workhorse daily trainer!
