Nike Air Zoom Structure 20.
The speed to get going. The stability to stay gone.

With the Structure 20, Nike didn’t want to just update the Structure – they wanted to create the best stability shoe on the market. The holistic running system proves you don’t need to sacrifice protection for propulsion or stability for swiftness. Its dialled upper aids heel and mid-foot lockdown, while dual-density foam – firmer on the medial side and softer on the lateral side – prevents over pronation and, coupled with the forefoot Zoom Air unit, facilitates smoother transitions.

The History of the
Structure 20.

20 years of support.

Debuting in 1991, the Structure was Nike’s answer to the demand for a running shoe with greater stability. Already a fan favourite, 2006 saw a notable transformation when the Structure Triax 9 modified the already popular shoe by decoupling the outsole into an independent, bevelled heel crash pad and forefront Nike Free geometry that, together, promoted stability and a smoother stride transition.

For the Structure 16 and 17, Nike took out the medial post to allow for a smoother transition, but through that process they found that the Structure lost some of its stability. For the 18 and 19, they reintroduced the medial post back in to help enhance the stability, but noted that the shoe lost some of its comfort. With that background and insight, Nike made it a mission to make the Structure 20 both stable and comfortable.
