Mizuno Wave Hitogami - Dazzling Blue/Silver/Green Flash

The Hitogami is an entirely new racing model from Mizuno, meaning Human Gods in Japanese. Sadly, The Hitogami has replaced both the Wave Musha and Wave Ronin, which were popular shoes in the racing category.

But rest assured that the Hitogami is more than a worthy successor for both shoes and comes with powers of speed through some of Mizuno’s most advanced technologies, including a supportive Wave.

Mizuno’s Wave is the industry’s most effective midsole technology - its unique shape dissipates impact forces away from the foot for a smoother, more cushioned feel on every step. The Wave works in perfect harmony with the U4ic (pronounced ‘euphoric’) midsole compound that rides and cushions like Mizuno's ap+ midsole, but is approximately 30% lighter without any loss of comfort or performance.

All of these aspects are complemented by Mizuno’s SmoothRide technology, which is designed to create a smooth, rocking-chair-like transition from heel to toe on every step.

Also featured in the Wave Hitogami is Mizuno’s Intercool and AirMesh technologies, which provide superior breathability and ventilation, keeping the foot cool and dry at all times. Mizuno Intercool solves the problem of heat and humidity build-up in a running shoe, by incorporating a full-length ventilation system in the sole of the shoe that removes heat and humidity from the foot through a system of ventilation channels.

Much of the Hitogami’s lack of weight can be attributed to its new G3 performance outsole component that enhances traction where needed most and reduces weight.

Cleverly, the Hitogami also have a Kabuki theme to make them unique. By placing the left and right shoes together so their laces touch, you’ll see the face of a Kabuki theatre performer, which is pretty cool. However, it’s also far from being just a design quirk – Mizuno wanted to emphasise that when racing, runners can become someone else, out of mind, in a similar way that Kabuki performers do behind their make-up.

Size Guide

If you have a regular-high arch, your feet underpronate, which means your ankles either don't roll inwards or don’t roll inwards enoughwhen you run. Normally this movement would help to absorb shock every time your feet strike the ground and, sincethis doesn't happen, you should choose a neutral shoe that encourages your feet to roll in more naturally.
