The Wave Paradox 2 has all of the benefits of its previous model, but now offers increased durability and support with an updated sole construction.

The Japanese-inspired upper design utilises a traditional Japanese drawing technique, which also makes it one of the more unique running shoes on the market. Maximum support just got more fun.

The Wave Paradox 2 features a Dynamotion Fit system, which uses the latest motion capture and biomechanics technology. Mizuno has developed a design blueprint to engineer shoes that work with the gait cycle. SmoothRide also creates a unique approach to the sole of the shoe, which is designed to create a smooth, rocking-chair-like transition from heel to toe on every step.

The Paradox 2 also utilises Mizuno’s SR Touch, an advanced cushioning material that is lighter and absorbs shock with its fast rebound properties, keeping the transition smooth and fast. Its ap+ midsole offers increased rebound and a "bouncier" feeling, which extends the cushion durability, while maintaining the light weight performance.

Also featured in the Paradox 2 is Mizuno’s Intercool and AirMesh technologies, which give superior breathability and ventilation, keeping the foot cool and dry at all times. Mizuno Intercool solves the problem of heat and humidity build-up in a running shoe, by incorporating a full-length ventilation system in the sole of the shoe that removes heat and humidity from the foot through a system of ventilation channels.

The latest X-10 outsole on the Wave Paradox 2 provides the most durable carbon rubber from Mizuno that allows for longer wear in high impact areas and provides more traction at heel strike.

Mizuno’s Wave is the industry’s most effective midsole technology - its unique shape dissipates impact forces away from the foot for a smoother, more cushioned feel on every step. With a full-length composite Double Fan Wave to control overpronation, combined with new midsole geometry the Paradox 2 gives an ultra-supportive and smooth ride.

If you have a normal arch, your feet overpronate, which means they roll inwards too far when you run. A normal inward movement allows for the natural absorption of shock, but overpronators can be susceptible to injuries. This means you should choose a shoe with supportive, structured cushioning, allowing the shoe to support the trait.
