Designed to give an ultra-dynamic transitional ride from heel impact to toe off, the designers at Mizuno’s Japanese headquarters have worked tirelessly to deliver a shoe that promises to astound the wearer every step of the way.
The Wave Enigma sits at the top of Mizuno’s neutral cushioning category and provides a luxuriously plush and sensuous ride. The running shoe features a full length Parallel Wave plate with AP+ premium midsole polymer and a blown rubber forefoot, providing the all important stability, support and cushioning that Mizuno products have become famous for. The Wave Enigma’s SmoothRide technology and flex control system minimises the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition, creating the smoothest ride possible.
The upper of the Wave Enigma running shoes features the enhanced fit technology ‘Dynamotion fit’, with a stretch mesh vamp and a combination of soft and firmer materials that hold the foot with just the right combination of softness and support throughout the gait cycle. The result is a shoe that really pushes the design boundaries and delivers a silky smooth combination of Mizuno’s renowned transition with a luxurious cushioned ride.

- X10: Made from Carbon Rubber and located at the heel on the outsole X10 protects high wear areas and provides more traction at heel strike.
- DYNAMOTION FIT: Developed by the revolutionary Sozo Studio. Extensive high speed video analysis showed how shoes distort in the collar and heel counter during the gait cycle resulting in loss of fit and causing heel slippage. The DynaMotion Fit system allows the upper of the shoe to interact with the movement of the foot. This relieves the stress on the upper which causes the distortion and results in fit being maintained throughout the full range of the movement for a more comfortable better fitting trainer.
- GENDER ENGINEERING: Based on Biomechanical research into the differences between mens and womens gait. Mizuno constructs the Midsole/Outsole of each gender differently to improve the ride performance and comfort.
- PEBAX RNEW: Wave plate constructed from Pebax Rnew which is made from plant based oil which is sustainable and produces less carbon while retaining all performance characteristics.
- AP+ (ACCELERATION POLYMER): Revolutionary New Midsole material. Lighter weight with increased cushioning durability. AP+ (Acceleration Polymer) only losses 20% of its cushioning after 600km. All Midsoles have a mileage as over time the material compresses. Mizuno's new AP+ Midsole takes longer to compress therefore staying more cushioned for longer.
