Asics Gel-Excel 33 - Black/Blue/Green
The ASICS Gel-Excel 33 incorporates the ASICS' I.G.S. (Impact Guidance system), a design philosophy in which the individual components of the shoe work together to produce a more comfortable step and an improved gait. In addition, silicone-based material is placed in critical areas of the sole to dampen shock, allowing for a smooth movement through the step and reducing the risk of injury.
Cushioning is imperative in a shoe of this standard, and the Gel-Excel 33 is no different. It features a memory foam insole placed inside the shoe and a Solyte lower midsole to absorb shock and cushion the foot; a lighter material than SpEVA and EVA, Solyte is also more durable.
The SpEVA upper midsole material offers even more cushioning to absorb a greater amount of shock.
In terms of durability, this shoe goes even further with the use of AHAR (ASICS High Abrasion Resistant Rubber), a tough material placed in critical areas of the shoe for exceptional durability
The Gel-Excel 33 also features the Propulsion Trusstic System, a plastic bridge under the arch, which mimics the connective tissue in the foot by creating tension as the foot moves through each step. Complementing this technology is the Full-Length Guidance Line, a vertical flex groove in the sole running from heel to toe, which encourages a more efficient running style.
The Heel Clutching System, a lightweight heel counter on the outside of the upper, provides support and fitting around the heel. Together with the P.H.F. (Personal Heel Fit), which utilises the memory foam lining around the heel collar and tongue, the Gel-Excel 33 ensures a superior fit around the ankle and provides extra-essential support.
